In a ceremony held at the University of Balamand (UOB), the Secretary General of the Lebanese Red Cross, Mr. Georges Kettaneh and the President of UOB, Dr. Elias Warrak signed a Memorandum of Understanding, to reinforce the structured academic collaboration on scientific research at Cash Center of Excellence in the Middle East and North Africa which is hosted by the Lebanese Red Cross.
The agreement aims to encourage faculty members and students to participate in real-world humanitarian programs, contribute to the development of learning and research materials, and develop knowledge in the areas of disaster response and Cash and Voucher Assistance.
Representatives of the delegations of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the British Red Cross, the Norwegian Red Cross, and the Netherlands Red Cross also participated in the ceremony.

في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا الذي يستضيفه الصليب الأحمر اللبناني وذلك في حفل أقيم في جامعة البلمند.
وهذه المذكرة تشجع اشتراك أعضاء الهيئة التعليمية والطلاب ببرامج انسانية واقعية، والمساهمة في اعداد مواد تعليمية وبحثية اضافة الى تطوير القدرات المعرفية في مجالات الاستجابة للكوارث والمساعدة النقدية والقسائم.
وشارك في حفل التوقيع ممثلو بعثات، الاتحاد الدولي للصليب الأحمر والهلال الأحمر والصليب الاحمر البريطاني و الصليب الاحمر النرويجي والصليب الأحمر الهولندي.
